STRATEGIC PLANNING SESSION... President Vicki Thompson announces that the club will host a second strategic planning session on Saturday, August 15th beginning at 9:00AM. The get-together will be held at the beautiful new Community Mausoleum - Gathering Room at David's Cemetery, 4600 Mad River Road, Kettering. Coffee and maybe a surprise snack when you get there. All club members are invited and encouraged....to attend! We should finish around noon. Directions below. We'll start off with a very short official August Board Meeting and then get into the subjects for the morning. We'll get to work on some new ideas for your Dayton area club! Each of us might be thinking about recent exchanges...both domestic and foreign...and what we liked and didn't. Plan to discuss suggestions for exchanges next year. Again we need your thoughts on possible destinations for both foreign and domestic. These ideas are sent to Friendship Force International. They need our input as they arrange exchanges. We'll also discuss some of the continuing programs, social events and other club activities....what works, what doesn't and what we might change. Come and be a positive part of these discussions! It'll be informal and casual. We want everyone to feel comfortable and free to discuss some new...and old ideas! This session is important to the future of YOUR club. Come and be a part of it! DIRECTIONS: David's Cemetery is located at the southwest corner of St Rt #48 (Far Hills) and West David Road. It can be entered from Far Hills (turn in at the stone entrance just below the light at David's Road), through the parking lot at David's UCC Church or enter at 4600 Mad River...just south of the church which is at the corner of David and Mad River. Proceed ahead and keep bearing south ("downhill" might better describe...). Eventually you will see the mausoleums located across from a wide open area. Drive past the larger building and enter the parking lot from the south end (it's one way...north-bound). Make a u-turn and come back up. Park to one side of the drive and enter under the parapet. There should be room for 12-15 cars along the side and another 5-6 next to the Handicapped spots. If those are all filled, merely park on the street and walk the short distance up the driveway. |
